About the Artist

The Music Company is an auditioned ensemble of twenty Spanaway Lake High School musicians under the direction of Mrs. Sara Forte. They perform a variety of music styles, from classical to soul. Their motto is “Expect Excellence.”

The group has been in existence since 1987 and performs 30 to 40 times each year for a variety of events and venues. Their most memorable gigs include the Washington State PTA Convention, the WEA School Director’s Convention, the OSPI Spring Conference, the Opening Day for the WA State Congress in 2017, and the 2019 WA State Capital’s Veteran’s Day ceremony.

In 2025 they performed onstage at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The group has also performed in Hawaii, Disney World, New Orleans and sung the National Anthem at Seattle Mariners games.
