A Queen is Born 👑
15 years ago, Manuela Horn answered a Craigslist ad from Oktoberfest NW that simply said:
“Wanted: Swing Girl — must be willing to sit 15 feet above people’s heads.”
Naturally, she said “Heck yes!” and found herself literally hanging above Oktoberfest NW, gracefully perched in the air like the world’s sassiest pretzel.
From her sky-high swing, she watched the festival unfold below — and had one thought:
“I want in on that stage.”
So she asked for a 15-minute tryout to open for a band. Just 15 minutes. One yodel, a high kick, and a whole lotta laughs later… the rest is beer-soaked history. She became the headliner and was soon crowned Oktoberfest Queen — a title she has worn proudly (and loudly) ever since.
Now, with a crown, a killer sense of humor, and a Dirndl that’s seen more action than most rock stars, Manuela continues to reign over Oktoberfests far and wide — reminding us all that the best seat in the house… might just be 15 feet in the air.
