About the Artist

Hailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era,” the legendary rock band with horns, Chicago, ranks as the highest-charting American band in Billboard magazine’s Top 125 Artists of All Time. Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades.

Chicago’s debut album Chicago Transit Authority was inducted into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2025, recognizing its cultural, historical, and aesthetic importance to the nation’s recorded sound heritage.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Chicago IX: Chicago’s Greatest Hits, the band released Chicago IX: Greatest Hits Expanded in August 2025. In 2024, they released Chicago at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C. (9/16/1971), a 26-track live collection capturing more than two hours of music from their early years.

Additional recent releases include Chicago Greatest Christmas Hits (2023) and their 38th studio album Born for This Moment (2022), featuring the hit single “If This Is Goodbye.”

In 2022, Gravitas Ventures released the documentary The Last Band on Stage, directed by Peter Curtis Pardini and narrated by Joe Mantegna. The film tells the story of how Chicago became the last band playing in the U.S. as COVID-19 shutdowns began in March 2020 and how they continued creating during the pandemic.

Chicago has received numerous honors, including The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, and induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame for their debut album. Songwriters Robert Lamm and James Pankow were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017, and Pankow also received the International Trombone Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

Over their career, Chicago has earned two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and recognition as Founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. With over 100 million records sold, their achievements include 21 Top 10 singles, five consecutive No. 1 albums, 11 No. 1 singles, and a total of 48 gold and platinum awards.

Chicago has toured every year since their formation, never missing a year. Original members Lee Loughnane (trumpet, vocals), Robert Lamm (keyboards, vocals), and James Pankow (trombone) remain active in the band, joined by a lineup of world-class musicians.

From the signature sound of the Chicago horns to their iconic vocalists and timeless catalog of hits, their concerts remain true celebrations. 2025 marks the band’s 58th consecutive year of touring.

Chicago continues to serve as proud ambassadors of their hometown, carrying the city’s name with pride and distinction around the world.
