The Washington State Fair Event Center is hiring a Landscaping/Groundskeeper Supervisor to execute the overall landscape strategy and groundskeeping maintenance plan for the organization. Leading these efforts include overseeing the landscaping staff, groundskeeping crews, and contractors in turf maintenance, landscaping, annual and perennial floral planning and coordination, weed control and tree & shrubbery trimming in order to make the fairgrounds a high quality, first class outdoor and indoor setting. Other duties as assigned, which may be outside the above scope of work to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
The Washington State Fair Event Center is hiring an experienced Plumber to maintain the plumbing systems of the Event Center campus and other properties owned by the organization. Other duties as assigned, which may be outside the above scope of work to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
The Photo Salon Docent provides positive, friendly customer service in the Fair’s Photo Salon department. Candidate duties during photo intake include organizing prints, setting up gallery space, and other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Candidate duties during the Fair include greeting patrons, answering questions, redirecting traffic flow through exhibits, and ensuring the safety of the gallery. This job is a seasonal, non-benefitted position with a wage range of $16.66 to $16.66/hr.

In July 2022, The Taste Northwest had its inaugural year at the Washington State Event Center. Formerly, The Taste of Tacoma, a popular food and entertainment event since 1986, it has found a new home. The three-day extravaganza welcomes a diverse array of restaurants, food trucks, music and other activities for all ages.
