MEDIA ALERT: Puyallup Fair Kicks Off Week with Fantastic Fun

Puyallup, WA – Sept. 13, 2009 – Every day feels like a weekend day at the 2009 Puyallup Fair, which runs through Sept. 27. There’s lots in store right now, including:

• Military Appreciation Day – Monday, Sept. 14
o Free gate admission to all active, retired, and reserve military and their dependents, plus disabled veterans with valid military ID. Media Partner: KVI 570 AM

• Recyclesaurus
o 7-foot art sculpture of wire and plastic in the shape of a dinosaur. Wire shape, with Happy Meal plastic toys, Frisbees, and other plastic items stuffed in the wire meshing. Found in the Fine Art Show, Pavilion, second floor.

• Record-breaking giant pumpkin
o Stan Pugh entered the largest giant pumpkin in the Puyallup Fair’s history, totaling 1,136.5 pounds. See it in the Agriculture Dept., Americraft ShowPlex

• Crosby, Stills and Nash
o Performing on the grandstand stage tonight at 7:30 p.m. “Marrakesh Express,” “Judy Blue Eyes,” and more. Part of the Columbia Bank Concert Series.

• Monday Madness – Possibly our best ride deal ever!
o Ride any Midway or SillyVille ride for just $1.50 per ride (excl. Extreme Scream) – today ONLY (Sept. 14). All riders must be 2+ years and able to hold onto the ride, and meet height requirements.
