NEW: Monster Truck Showdown and Pit Party at the Puyallup Fair Sept. 18

Puyallup, WA – Sept. 12, 2009 – Trucks will be side-by-side racing and fans will be cheering as the Monster Truck Showdown makes its first-ever debut at the Puyallup Fair on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. In addition to monster truck action, ticket holders can enjoy the free Puyallup Fair Pit Party, or take a ride on a monster truck for a nominal fee.

Six monster trucks will make up the Showdown in the Grandstand. King Krunch, El Matador, Outlaw Clydesdale, Obsession, Dream Catcher and Airborne Ranger will compete in side-by-side racing, wheelie contests, and you-be-the-judge freestyle. This event is a safe, child-friendly experience the whole family can enjoy.

Monster truck fans can meet the “Big Boys of Racing” at the Puyallup Fair Pit Party, beginning at 6 p.m. for ticket holders. Meet the drivers, receive autographs, check out the trucks, and take photos at the pre-show Pit Party. Autographs from the drivers will also be available after the show.

Ticket holders can also ride on a monster truck for just $5 either pre-show, during intermission, or after the show. Guests can ride on Airborne Ranger Too, which is wheelchair accessible, as well as American Thunder, the Maris Farms monster truck.

Tickets include entrance to the Fair and the pre-show Pit Party. Prices are $22 for Adults, $18 for Students (6-18 years), and $5 for Kids (3-5 years). Seating is first come, first seated, and are available at Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. While the racing begins at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m.

 The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. This Pacific Northwest tradition is one of the top ten fairs in the world in attendance, and features big name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers, and animals.
