Young Artists Shine at the Puyallup Fair’s Junior/Senior High School Art Show
Puyallup, WA – September 24, 2009 – Young artists from 6th to 12th grade are showcasing their best artworks at the Puyallup Fair’s 22nd annual Junior/Senior High Art Show in the Pavilion. The Puyallup Fair runs through Sept. 27.
This exhibit features 1,098 art pieces composed by more than 800 students from 34 schools. The exhibit is considered one of the most prestigious shows for students in western Washington.
The show features works done in pencil, paints, oils, watercolor, and mixed media. Ribbons are awarded for: “Best of Show,” Juror’s Choice,” “People’s Choice of the Day,” “Honorable Mention,” and “Most Patriotic.” The winner’s school will receive a cash award of $100 for art supplies.

The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. This Pacific Northwest tradition is one of the top ten fairs in the world in attendance, and features big name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers, and animals.
