Cooking Oil at the Fair is Now Trans Fat Free
Whether you're eating French fries or elephant ears, you'll find that Fair Food to be a little healthier. Fair food vendors now use trans fat free cooking oils. This applies to items that are cooked in oil, not baked. This issue deals with the cooking oils only, and not pre-made products, such as hamburger buns, batters, and pre-prepared box mixes. According to government regulations, serving portions may have no more than .5 mg of trans fat free oil to be considered trans fat free.
