Puyallup School District Student
Poster Project
Nearly 600 second grade students from 10 of Puyallup School District's elementary schools participated in the first-ever Spring Fair poster project.
Students submitted their poster artwork for judging and a chance to win classroom art supplies and have their artwork showcased at the Spring Fair in Puyallup. The winning artwork is being used in select printed pieces to promote the Spring Fair.
Teachers introduced the project with themed lessons in art and social studies. Students learned about warm and cool colors, as well as their community, by completing class and homework assignments related to the Fair's mission: "People Coming Together, Generation After Generation."
The lessons culminated with a hands-on art project in which the students demonstrated what they learned by creating brightly-colored posters reflecting their memories of the Spring Fair. Art mediums ranged from crayons and colored pencils to watercolors and poster paints.
