The Washington State Fair exhibits the talents of individuals from all over Washington state and beyond. Individuals enter their handiwork in a variety of different categories for the chance to stand out above all the rest.

  • Fine Arts

    Let your eyes do the walking around this extraordinary exhibit of fine art. See original works, many submitted by local artists. Categories include water media, oils, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, and computer art. This year's feature exhibit is a special competition for pastel artists. Daily demonstrations are also scheduled featuring each medium. Learn how to enter

  • Artists in Action

    Watch as art is created! Artists in Action features painters, potters, weavers, bead makers, basket weavers, and many other artisans. You can watch experts at work, shop for unique handmade items, and even attend how-to demonstrations.

  • Photo Salon

    This exhibition has been part of the Fair for 70 years. It is one of the top photo exhibitions held in the Pacific Northwest, and is approved by the Photographic Society of America (PSA.) This esteemed society will present 11 PSA Medals and twelve citations may be given for outstanding prints and digital images in each section. Four special Fair medals along with other special awards and ribbons will be presented. Located on the second floor of the Pavilion, view the winning graphics and enjoy the works of some of the world’s best photographers. Slide shows are scheduled daily. Learn how to enter

  • Jr/Sr High School Art Show

    Enjoy the works of Washington's growing artists. This exhibit features of 1,000 pieces of flat artwork from western Washington schools, and encourages students to develop confience and creativity. Volunteers from Puyallup Valley Arts United serve as docents as part of their continued effort to promote art in Puyallup and surrounding areas. A panel of professional local art educators judge the entries. Learn how to enter

  • Home Arts

    Browse examples of domestic arts including baking, preserved foods, sewing, quilting, knitting and much more. You'll also enjoy cooking demonstrations taught by area restauranteurs and chefs. Learn new techniques and great ideas!

  • Hobby Hall

    Sponsored by: Rich's for the Home

    Visit Hobby Hall for an amazing look at the intriguing world of crafts and collections, from Lego displays to toy collections to coins and everything in between.   • Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center

    Visit this amazing museum, just inside the Red Gate. You’ll see authentic artifacts within old west dioramas, an extensive gallery of Fred Oldfield original artwork, a magnificent Native American basket collection, and a gift shop of memorabilia and artwork by local artists. The center also offers many ongoing art classes for youth, as well as specialty classes for adults throughout the year. See Fred Oldfield in the Western Parade & Cattle Drive as the Grand Marshall on Friday, Sept. 6 starting at 10 am down Meridian Street.

  • Floral

    Your senses will tingle with the scents and colors that abound in Agriculture & Floral exhibits in Evergreen Hall. Browse through rows and rows of prize winning flowers of many varieties including roses, geraniums, chrysanthemums, bonsai and so many more. Daily demonstrations also provide insight in how to cultivate flowers as well as creative ideas and floral projects.

  • Fiestas Patrias

    Better than ever - Sunday, Sept 16 throughout the entire fair! Enjoy a fabulous collection of sizzling Latin entertainment ranging from traditional mariachi's to colorful folkloric dancers to some of the well-known groups playing on the radio. Plus, delicious authentic foods, vendors, artisans and kids activities, including an pinata extravaganza! Free with fair admission. Sunday night features a talent concert from 8:00 - 10:00 pm.
