Jingle History
The ‘Do the Puyallup’ jingle has celebrated the Fair since 1976. Originally it was a slogan created by famed advertising copywriter, Denny Hinton. Fellow copywriter Saxon Rawlings got out his guitar, started writing lyrics and the rest is history. The Fair loved it. And it became a hit. The jingle has been sung in a variety of ways to keep up with the changing times. A rock, country, and teen version have all been recorded.
