Motorsport Mayhem at Spring Fair features Monster Trucks and Slamfest Demo Derby

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m.

Puyallup, WA – Feb. 16, 2015 – Motorsport Mayhem, presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, is returning to the Washington State Spring Fair in Puyallup on April 15, 16, and 17, 2016. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. The Monster Truck Show is slated for Friday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. Slamfest Demolition Derby is on Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. with “chain and go” rules, with a fireworks show following both performances. The Sunday, April 17 Slamfest kicks off at 4 p.m., and features the inaugural boat bash, with large cars dragging boats.

These are separate ticketed events, though advance purchase tickets include Spring Fair admission, a $10 value. All seats are reserved, and the grandstand opens one hour prior to showtime. Each event is held rain or shine. To purchase Monster Truck or Slamfest tickets online, visit:

Tickets are also sold by phone (888) 559-FAIR (3247), daily, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.; or in person at the Washington State Fair’s Box Office at 9th Ave SW and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Online and phone purchases are subject to standard processing fees. Tickets purchased on site will be charged a $2 per ticket service fee.

Monster Truck Show:

The Monster Truck Show on Friday night is produced by WGAS Motorsports. Some of the featured trucks include:  Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, Destroyer, and Wild Flower. Monster Truck Rides:  Kids of all ages can enjoy taking a ride on a tricked-out monster truck on Thursday, April 14 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, April 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 16 from noon to 4 p.m. for $7 (cash) per ride.

There will be a free Pit Party on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where Monster Truck show ticket holders can see the trucks up close and meet the drivers.

Slamfest Demolition Derby

Slamfest Demolition Derby is produced by Evergreen Speedway/High Road Promotions. The Saturday derby is classified “Chain and Go,” and  includes Figure 8s, the Derby Heat Races, and Slamfest (the last car standing wins). It concludes with a fireworks show. The Sunday derby features the inaugural boat bash, with the large cars dragging the boats. A free pit party for Slamfest ticket holders follows the Sunday show.

Mr. Dizzy, the star of the History channel’s, American Daredevils will appear Saturday and Sunday performing a special stunt.

Kids two (2) years and under are free, if sitting on a guardian’s lap at the Monster Truck Show and Slamfest Demolition Derbies.

Washington’s “biggest” celebration of spring just got bigger with over four additional acres and 12 new food booths added. The Spring Fair in Puyallup offers fun for all ages and interests, including Swifty Swine Pig Races, presented by Reber Ranch; Northwest Living & Garden, free entertainment, DockDogs, the Northwest Junior Livestock Show and Sale, nearly 350 exhibits, food, rides, and much more. Kids, ages 0-18 years, can enjoy FREE gate admission from 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 only. Non-perishable donations are recommended for the Puyallup Food Bank’s food drive throughout the day on Thursday. Military Appreciation Day, presented by KVI 570 AM and KOMO News Radio 1000AM/97.7 FM will be on Friday, April 15 with free gate admission to active, reserve, retired military and their dependents with valid military ID.

Discount gate tickets are available March 21 to April 17 at select South Sound locations:  Safeway, Albertson’s, Fred Meyer and South Hill Mall for $7.50 (adults), and $6.50 (students 6-18 years).

Adult gate tickets are $10 at the gate, and Students (6-18 years) are $8 at the gate. Children five years and under are free. Parking is free. Hours are Thursday (4/14) from 2 – 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday (4/15-4/16) 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday (4/17) from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The 2016 Washington State Spring Fair first started in 1990. Today it draws nearly 150,000 guests during its four-day run. Animals, the NW Jr. Livestock Show, free entertainment, kids’ activities, Motorsport Mayhem and much more attract large crowds to this celebration of spring each April.
